Piedmont Concrete Contractors was re-certified as a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) subcontractor on December 14, 2010.  PCC’s certification number is P573 and should show up on VDOT’s contractor certification website when performing searches.

On June 24, 2009 Piedmont Concrete Contractors, Inc. received it’s LDBE Certification # LD2009-0351-2012 from the Metro Washington Airport Authority. We are covered under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code #236220 – Commercial and Industrial Building Construction.

In April 2010, Piedmont Concrete Contractors was awarded a contract by the University of Virginia for the Lee Street Connective Elements project.  The project was awarded upon best technical proposal and price where Piedmont Concrete received a perfect score of 100 on the technical portion. Work is in progress with completion scheduled for January 2012.

Earlier this year, Piedmont Concrete Contractors was awarded the contract for the concrete work for UVA’s Garrett Hall Rehabilitation.  The University recognized Garrett Hall’s historic significance and value to the their graduate study program, deciding to rehabilitate the structure in lieu of demolition.

In October 2010 Piedmont Concrete Contractors was awarded the contract for the concrete work for the freestanding emergency department at HCA’s West Creek Medical Center.  Work is in progress with completion scheduled for July 2011.

In August of 2010 Piedmont Concrete Contractors was awarded the contract for the structural concrete for the CISAT A3b Building at JMU.  Work is in progress with substantial completion shceduled for April 2012 with LEED Silver Certification.

In November of 2010, Piedmont Concrete was awarded the contract for the G39 Epoxy Overlay for the bridge over the Rivanna River in Albemarle County.  Project work is scheduled for completion in July 2011.

Piedmont Concrete Contractors is the proud recipient of three 2010 Safety Awards from the American Society of Concrete Contractors. Awards were made for:

• Zero Lost Days – members with zero lost time incidents
• Recognition – members with an incident rate better than the industry average
• Improvement – members who have improved from last year

This is the second consecutive year that PCC has received the “Zero Lost Days” award from the ASCC. The American Society of Concrete Contractors was formed by and for concrete contractors and others who provide services and goods to the industry. Its members share the same goals – to improve their businesses and their roles as contractors. There are over 550 member companies in the U.S. and abroad.

PCC is proud to have received the ASCC 2009 Safety Award. It is awarded for achieving zero lost workday cases due to injury and illness for the year ending December 31, 2008.
