2010 ASCC Safety Awards

Piedmont Concrete Contractors is the proud recipient of three 2010 Safety Awards from the American Society of Concrete Contractors. Awards were made for:

  • Zero Lost Days – members with zero lost time incidents
  • Recognition – members with an incident rate better than the industry average
  • Improvement – members who have improved from last year

This is the second consecutive year that PCC has received the “Zero Lost Days” award from the ASCC. The American Society of Concrete Contractors was formed by and for concrete contractors and others who provide services and goods to the industry. Its members share the same goals – to improve their businesses and their roles as contractors. There are over 550 member companies in the U.S. and abroad.

PCC is proud to have received the ASCC 2009 Safety Award. It is awarded for achieving zero lost workday cases due to injury and illness for the year ending December 31, 2008.

Kings Dominion

PCC was awarded a contract in October 2009 by Whiting-Turner to add some accessory buildings for the new ride coming in 2010. Project is currently under construction.

Tom’s Creek

In August 2009 PCC was awarded a contract by Adams Contracting Company to build the dam riser and monument for the South River Watershed Dam Rehabilitation Project. Construction to begin October 2009.

VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (VDOT) CERTIFICATION

In August 2009, Piedmont Concrete Contractors was certified as a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) subcontractor.  PCC’s certification number is P573 and should show up on VDOT’s contractor certification website when performing searches.

ACI Flatwork Finisher & Technician Certification

We here at PCC are proud to announce that as of April 2009 Brad Eppard – General Superintendent and Jeffrey Eppard – Superintendent have received their ACI Flatwork Finisher & Technician Certificates.

Smith Aquatics Center

On March 10, 2009 Piedmont Concrete Contractors was the apparent “low” bidder for this project. Construction is to begin in the Spring of 2009.

Hammer Day Award March 2009

The Hammer Day Award is bestowed upon the PCC employee who best demonstrates the values of People, Customers & Commitment. The individual that receives this award is nominated by his fellow employees for his/her willingness to go the extra mile to make sure the job is done well. In March 2009 we presented our 3rd Hammer Day Award to Andrew “Ray” Clements. Who has shown the initiative to go the extra mile to get the job done.

USACE Construction Quality Management

PCC General Superintendent Brad Eppard was awarded the USACE Construction Quality Management Certificate on November 13, 2008, by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers #cenao-08-0873.
